Well, some citygirls have had the urge to call other citygirls directly after work for a few days now, but SOME citygirls live in a timezone three hours behind and would therefore be getting calls during the WORKDAY.
P.S. I like to think of the word verification letter combinations as funny words and assign them meaning. Today's word verification word is ojhixoe. It's "Cujo" in Nahuatl.
Excellent. That means we can begin those "What does it all mean?" teleconferences. As a board member, I insist we have MaiTais. I also know some lawyers we can get to draft our articles of incorporation.
first off ophelia, who is this shayla person? ya know, i once knew a girl named shayla...i dont know whatever happened to her though...much like a certain ex-girlfriend, she seems to have just broken off all communications... perphaps it has something to do with the time zone issues you speak of...
listen, LJ, i'm still alive and have not deliberately cut off all communication. *psshhhht* i'm just having a hard time keeping in touch with east-coasters offline.
you should read my current post, btw. you know this person...
*Raises hand* OOH OOH OOH, Do I know this person? Was he in D.C. recently? Did I decline to go to Brickskeller with him because I was too freakin' tired? If so, I guess it's good we didn't go to Brickskeller with him, because I don't like the idea of getting kicked out because he's peeing on walls.
yes, i was entirely cordial[1] at the brickskeller[2], despite having several[3] more beers[4] there than i had during my birthday-night drunkening[5].
[1] for all values[6] of "cordial" that include incessant shit talking and ivory-tower philosophical horseshittery. [2] which sucks and is overpriced, though DC doesnt have a whole lot in the way of options[7] [3] i think. i had about 8 pints @brick, iirc[8] [4] gratuitous footnote [5] you were talking about me, i presume? or do you know another annoying borderline violent wall-urinator? [6] gratuitous footnote. am i in the running for the david foster wallace memorial blog-comment award yet? [7] well, there is that belgian restaurant, but they were inconsiderate enough not to let us know they were closed for a private party when we didnt call ahead to ask. [8] "if i remember correctly"
My personal favorite for footnotes, hands down, has to be Good Omens. How else would an American girl ever understand British monetary units without ever having purchased her own nitrogenated pint in the land of its birth?
Also, can't we move this to someone else's blog? I feel bad posting all these comments when I don't even have time to get to writing a post. And there's a list. A whole, big, fat LIST of posts to make.
i'm just posting another comment to bump up the number of comments. i love how we have adopted ophelia's space as our own personal banter space. *hugs*
i'm really nervous. i'm really quitting today. i'm really trying to build up the nerve to go tell people. AHHHHHH!

oooh, but SOME citygirls are quitting the job that requires them to be at work a week from today, thus negating the time zone/work effect. *grin*

Quitting is for... quitters.
I have it on good word that Ophelia is not a fan of MaiTais. She does, however, like coconut milk + vodka.
Verification code: zznmb.
Anonymous, don't you DARE make this a posting war.
"Zznmb" is the word Ophelia says when Monkey rouses her from sleep to ask theoretical moot questions.
well, i guess i'll jump in too...

ps...i guess there wasn't really any "second" or any subsequent point, and therefore no need to begin that previous bit with "first off"

i had a feeling upon reading your post...
and for the record, he was entirely cordial at the brick

Dude, you're totally not making sense. How about we just wear some really cool hats and eat vegetarian meatballs?
if that didn't make sense, then you obviously aren't learned in the assorted writings of david foster wallace...
i found it to be entirely comprehensible, thoroughly and accurately cited, and entertaining to boot...
and yah, i think you're in the running for an award there, mh...
ps...see house of leaves by mark z. danielewski for more footnote related fun...

blog comments, like any other capital, accumulate where there's already a whole lot of them.

i love you all so much. i can't even put it into words.
